Authorities has detained a 28-year-old man, Adeyemi Babatunde, for having unlawful carnal knowledge of his 5-year-old biological daughter, Ogun police command’s spokesperson Abimbola Oyeyemi said.
According to the statement, the culprit was apprehended after the mother of the victim filed a complaint at the Ijebu Mushin divisional headquarters, stating that her daughter has been complaining of pain everytime she wants to urinate as well as whenever she bathes her and touches her private part.
The mother on realizing this pressured the little girl to tell her what happened.
It was then the victim told her that, her father laid her on the bed and inserted her manhood into her private part when the mother was not at home.
Following the report, CSP Simire Hillary, the DPO for the Ijebu Mushin division, immediately dispatched his detectives to track down the culprit, who was ultimately taken into custody.
During questioning, the suspect admitted to the crime but claimed not to know what came over him at the moment.
Meanwhile, the state commissioner of police CP Olanrewaju Oladimeji has ordered the suspect to be handed to the State Criminal Investigation Department’s Anti Human Trafficking and Child Labour department for further investigation and prosecution.
