Buhari seeks Senate consent to pay $55.6m, £98.5m judgement debts

The Senate has been tasked with approving a request from President Muhammadu Buhari to pay a judgment debt in the amount of $566,754,584.31, £98,526,012.00, and N226 billion.

The federal government owes the money by issuing promissory notes.

On Wednesday, Senate President Ahmad Lawan read Buhari’s letter of request during the plenary session.
