In an operation carried out by the Delta Police Command, a PoS robber named Moses Musa from Kogi was apprehended. However, two other members of the robbery syndicate managed to flee into a nearby bush.
On June 5, 2023, at approximately 12:30 PM, the police patrol team from the Mosogar division intercepted Moses Musa and his accomplices, Kelin and Isah, along the Mosogar/Oghara expressway.
The suspects, upon sighting the police, immediately fled into the nearby bush.
The security operatives gave chase, resulting in the arrest of Moses Musa with a locally made pistol and a live cartridge. The other two suspects escaped.
Moses Musa, during interrogation, confessed to being from Kogi and part of a POS robbery gang.
He was also identified as a victim of a recent motorcycle snatching incident at gunpoint along the Oghara/Mosogar Bridge.
The Delta State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest of the suspect and stated that he is currently in custody while investigations continue.
In a separate incident on June 5, 2023, at around 5:40 PM, operatives from Agbor Division spotted a motorcycle carrying three passengers with a bag along Baleke Street, Iregua Agbor.
Upon noticing the police, two of the passengers identified as Collins Anthony and Stephen Goddey, residents of the Agbor community, jumped off the motorcycle and attempted to escape. The police pursued and apprehended them.
A search of the suspects led to the recovery of a locally fabricated cut-to-size pistol and a live cartridge.
Preliminary investigations revealed their involvement in a criminal syndicate operating in the Agbor community and its environs.
Investigations are ongoing in both cases to uncover further details and apprehend the remaining suspects.
