The Lagos State Chapter of the Labour Party has issued a fervent call to the judges presiding over the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja, urging them to deliver their judgment with the utmost fairness and impartiality.
With the judgment scheduled for today, Wednesday, September 6, 2023, the party emphasized the gravity of the responsibility placed on the judges and implored them to prioritize the interests of all Nigerians who have entrusted them with the task of determining the true outcome of the February 25, 2023, presidential election.
The party’s spokesperson, Olubunmi Odusanya, stressed the importance of the judges resisting external pressures or intimidation, emphasizing that their role holds the destiny of over two hundred million people in their hands.
The party celebrated the victories of their candidates in the National Assembly elections and commended the judiciary for upholding justice.
In anticipation of the presidential petition judgment, heightened security measures have been observed in Abuja, with various law enforcement agencies deploying personnel to potential flashpoints.
The tribunal’s chairman, Justice Haruna Tsammani, along with other panel members, will deliver the crucial judgment.
