Osinbajo presides over FEC meeting

This week’s FEC meeting is being presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The Council’s meeting on Wednesday, which started a little after 10:00 am, is its last one before a new president is inaugurated on May 29, 2023.

The opening Christian and Muslim prayers were recited by the ministers of special duties, George Akume and Isa Pantami, respectively.

Boss Mustapha, the secretary to the government of the federation, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, the head of the civil service, and Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, the chief of staff to the president, are all in attendance at the FEC meeting.

Also present are the Ministers of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola; Science and Technology, Olorunimbe Mamora; Finance, Zainab Ahmed; Justice, Abubakar Malami, Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq; Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo; Agriculture, Mohammed Abubakar; Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire; Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema; Sports, Sunday Dare, Aviation, Hadi Sirika, Environment, Mohammed Abdullahi; Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola; Labour and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige and FCT, Mohammed Bello.

Gbemisola Saraki, the minister of state for mines and steel development, is also present.

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret. ), is now abroad in London, England, where he will remain for an additional week to have dental care.

President Buhari “will remain in London, United Kingdom, for an additional week, at the behest of his Dentist, who has started attending to him,” according to a statement released late Tuesday by Femi Adesina, the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity.

According to Adesina, the Specialist has to meet the President in another five days to finish a procedure that has already started.

Buhari, who traveled for the UK on Wednesday to attend King Charles III’s coronation, was anticipated to return to the nation this week.

On Saturday, May 6, 2023, the President attended the coronation together with other world leaders.
