The relegation predicament at Leeds United got worse on Sunday as West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen assisted on one goal and scored another to lead his team to a 3-1 Premier League victory at the London Stadium.
With 31 points from 37 games, Leeds is still in the relegation zone and is two points below Everton in 17th position with one game remaining next Sunday when Tottenham Hotspur visits Leeds. Bournemouth is welcomed at Goodison Park by Everton.
Rodrigo’s exquisite finish against an immobile West Ham defense gave Leeds the lead in the 17th minute when Weston McKennie’s long ball was volleyed into the net from 12 yards.
Declan Rice made a superb finish at the back post from Bowen’s cross to give the home team the lead in what may have been his final home game for West Ham before a summer transfer.
With 18 minutes left, West Ham took control of possession and took the lead thanks to a brilliant pass from Danny Ings that put Bowen in on goal. Bowen used the outside of his left foot to find the far corner.
Lucas Paqueta on the right side used some excellent footwork to beat several players and set up replacement Manuel Lanzini for a tap-in goal to give West Ham the victory in stoppage time.
