The club has informed Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti that he will remain in his position, according to Ancelotti.
The Italian, who has been mentioned as a potential candidate to manage Brazil, also stated that he wants to see out the remainder of his contract with the Spanish team.
“Everyone knows really well what my situation is: I have a contract until the end of the 2024 season and I want to stay,” Ancelotti stated.
When asked if Real had reassured him that he would remain, Ancelotti responded, “Yes.”
Ancelotti led the Bernabeu club for two years, from 2013 to 2015, leaving a year after he had won the Champions League. After leaving Everton in June 2021, he returned for a second time in charge.
Real Madrid has fallen short of such heights this season despite his leadership, having won the Spanish league and a record-tying 14th European Cup last year.
Real are 14 points behind Barcelona, the newly crowned La Liga champions, with four games remaining after they were soundly defeated by Manchester City in the Champions League semifinals.
With Real during the current season, Ancelotti has won the Uefa Super Cup, Fifa Club World Cup, and Copa del Rey.
Ancelotti remarked, “It could have been a better season, but it was a good one,” prior to his team’s match against Valencia on Sunday.
Of course, we’re not happy about La Liga, but in the other competitions, we gave it our all and took three of them.
