Nigeria’s Ashley Plumptre write heartfelt message of gratitude after Africa Women’s Cup 2022

The Nigeria Super Falcons center back, Ashley Plumptre has expressed her gratitude after 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON.

Plumptre acknowledged the privilege she was given to represent Nigeria during the tournament in Morocco.

“Proud to have batted alongside a resilient and determined group of women for 5 weeks at my first senior major tournament. Thank you for the lessons learnt, experiences had and the opportunity to represent way more than just myself. Morocco, thank you.”

It was the 14th edition of the biennial African International Women’s football tournament organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), hosted by Morocco.

Plumptre, who play center back for Leicester City Women made her senior Nigeria debut in February 2022 looks forward with great expectations and enthusiasm at the forthcoming 2022/2023 English Women Super league which starts on September 11 with the intention of helping her side to lift the league title.
